Kazakhstan Wheelchair Tennis Championship and Special Tennis Festival Held in Almaty.
Almaty became the center of an important sports event — the Kazakhstan National Wheelchair Tennis Championship, which gathered more than 40 athletes from Aktobe, Aktau, Uralsk, Karaganda, Astana, and Almaty. Alongside the tournament, a Special Tennis Festival was held, aimed at promoting inclusion and the development of sports among people with special needs.
Official Recognition
During the opening ceremony, Dave Miley, Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, was awarded a certificate by the National Paralympic Committee officially confirming the KTF's status as the authorized sports federation for the Paralympic summer sport — wheelchair tennis.
Wheelchair tennis is a recognized and fully integrated part of the global tennis community. Our athletes have the potential to perform on the world’s biggest stages — from Wimbledon to the US Open. I believe Kazakhstan’s wheelchair tennis players will soon make their mark on the international stage. Based on the results of this championship, a national team will be formed and will represent Kazakhstan at international competitions in China next year,”
said Dave Miley.

The Serik Tolbassy Foundation acted as the official partner of the tournament. The foundation consistently supports initiatives in education and sports. Thanks to their contribution, the championship was held at a high organizational level, further strengthening the status of wheelchair tennis as a key part of inclusive sports development in Kazakhstan.
